Fully funded training and resource pack available for your school now We hope you had a lovely break over Easter! A year ago, at a Dorset Youth schools conference where we presented on our drug alcohol and nicotine education programme for KS3, a group of primary school head teachers from Dorset asked us help them tackle vaping education in their schools. Our charity has 16 years' experience of delivering CPD accredited drug education and training and providing award winning PSHE resources in secondary schools. As a result, we applied for local area group (LAG) council funding and to The Dorset Health Trust and were successful in receiving funding to create, pilot and roll out free comprehensive vaping resources for Key stage 2 for schools across Dorset. Every game and activity has been tested by pupils in years 4, 5 and 6, as well as being informed and shaped by class tutors and head teachers in both BCP and Dorset. We are deeply grateful to the following schools who either were members of our steering group or facilitated the pilot.

We love a group of schools to come together so if you are part of a MAT or a senior leadership team, please do book us in. An hour to two hours is ideal. We can also co-deliver to pupils if you are new to the programme as an alternative to build staff confidence with the games and activities. More about the programme These resources provide adaptable materials designed to suit the knowledge and experience of young people aged 8-10. By making these resources accessible, the Talk About Trust aims to support teachers and youth practitioners in educating pupils about the risks and consequences of vaping, while fostering critical thinking, resilience, and essential life skills. Through engaging content, interactive activities, and thought-provoking reflection exercises, the resources encourage pupils to: o Critically analyse what is in a vape and its potential effects on their health and the environment. o Explore the social influences, such as peer pressure and marketing tactics, that may lead to vaping, and develop strategies to resist them. o Reflect on their own values and choices to promote informed, confident decision-making and advocacy for a vape-free lifestyle.

The lesson plans and activities adopt a non-judgmental, open approach to understanding vaping and its risks for children. It encourages pupils to question and evaluate the broader consequences of vaping, while empowering them to make healthier choices for themselves and their communities.
Guidance is provided to help navigate conversations and ensure a safe, supportive learning environment for all.
The suite of resources is designed to complement existing RSHE schemes of work such as Jigsaw and Coram Life Education (SCARF) and is carefully mapped to KS2 DfE RSHE requirements and the science curriculum as well as to the PSHE Association programme of study.
Ready for the Autumn Term – full drug education scheme of work for Key stage 2
Due to a rise in early use of inhalants (such as NOS) and the negative impact of energy drink use and the importance of preparing pupils for transition, we are extending our primary Key stage 2 programme for Years 4 ,5 and 6 to ensure that the RSHE statutory guidance is met, namely, that by the end of primary school, pupils should know the facts about legal and illegal harmful substances and associated risks, including smoking, alcohol use and drug-taking.
Much more than this, the resources will feed into RHSE requirements on diet and exercise, sleep, mental and physical health, consent and healthy relationships.
