Karen had a great session with both students and staff at A2A (Access to Achieve) - a post-16 training provider in South Bristol which offers education, training, and support for individuals who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET).
"The workshop was interactive, with plenty of opportunities for students to join in, ask questions and share their thoughts without feeling judged. Karen explained things clearly and honestly, helping everyone understand the facts and risks in a way that was interesting and relatable.” Suzie Winters, Employment and Work Placement Lead

Karen felt privileged to be part of the Cabot Learning Federation Summer Conference, an impressive event attended by around 2,200 people. She delivered two full-capacity workshops on vaping and other nicotine products, which was particularly rewarding given the wide range of sessions on offer — including an appearance from Eddie the Eagle. A very important morning of training on substances, grooming and county lines was delivered to Designated Safeguarding Leads across the City, organised through Bristol Healthy Schools, post workshop evaluation showed how useful the session was for these front line staff . Training and resources was also provided to youth workers at the Full Circle Project in St Paul’s on how to support in small groups and on a one to one basis using our especially designed resources for informal settings.
We are incredibly grateful to the Nisbet Trust for its three-year support. This funding enables us to work with schools, youth organisations and young people across Bristol, helping them build the knowledge, skills and resilience they need to make safer choices around alcohol and drugs.
